with livebearers i have never been good at determining when to add the female to a breeding tank.

a few question: do female mollies get really fat. aren't they less rounder when they are preg.

do female mollies get really fat.

It depends, if you conditioned her well (that includes feeding the right food, good temperature, good tank size, good tank mates, less males or if possible with no male, and frequent water changes), she will be plump and very healthy. And for the fry plant heavily from bottom top, throw some hornwort and anacharis.

aren't they less rounder when they are preg.

Again, it depends… it’s more of opposite above.

with livebearers i have never been good at determining when to add the female to a breeding tank.

When the females’ tummy gets square-ish, she will be dropping soon maybe less than a week. Do not forget to mark your calendar when she dropped, as the next time you will just count from the day she had dropped up to 28-32 days, as she will be dropping again.

…May you have a tankful of mollies!!!

What type of platies are they? My LFS usually only has reds and red wags.
