i've been told that different varieties of platys can interbreed, but can mollies and platies breed together? And are swordtails also something completely different?

platies and mollies cant interbreed...guppies and mollies can and platies and swordtails can. swordtails are something different but I wouldn't say completly different. Swordtails and platies will breed with eachother with about no problem.

but it's harder to get platys to breed with swordtails than with platys right? Have you tried breeding swordtails and platys yourself? Are the offspring infertile?

I haven't tried it myself and I don't plan on it. I'm pretty sure they're fertile though when they crossbreed. They'll either turn out to be more platy or more swordtail n that's what you got lol
