My boyfriends sister is moving to atlanta and doesn't want to take her guppies and algae eater. she hasn't been feeding them so that they will die. I have offered to put them in my tank but it isn't finished cycling. I have two black skirt tetras already. would puttimg the guppies in an uncycled tank be just as bad ltting them starve??

Geez...
Perhaps a better alternative is to find a LFS that will take the guppies and algae eater. If you can't find one right away, take the fish. A possible death from ammonia poisoning is preferable to a certain, lingering death from starvation, in my opinion.
And on a side note, can I take a moment and rant about people who consider fish and fish tanks animate decor? That burns my hide!]:|

well I got the guppiesand put them in with my two tetras. The one tetra is being a bully to the guppies and the other tetra. He has chased the one tetra till he is almost dead with exhaustion should i put the tired one in with my betta for a little while???? I don't want him to die

Well, the basic truth is that two black skirt Tetras are not enough. They are schooling fish that should be in groups of 6 or more. What size tank do you have them in? If you have room, you should get at least 4 more (Minimum tank size for that many is 15-20 gallons).

I know that that is too few. i was just cycling my tank. I never intended to get the guppies. I was planning on about 3 more tetras. when I got to college in the fall i am going to separate my fish into different aquariums. My tetras will be in the 10 gallon with a small algae eater that will stay at my dads and the guppies will be in another 10 gallon that will go with me. I will also take my betta if there is enough room. If not then my mom can add him to her collection. ( she has two blue veil tails) My little brother loves to watch them swimming. The guppies were not a planned addition.

I started out with the intention of a ten gallon with guppies. The guppies died and I replaced them with tetras which also died( my filter klled all four of my fish)I was given two tetras free since all my other fish had died. My bettas bowl ruptured(who knows why) so I went to buy him a nicer one and ran into a friend who had an old aquarium that he said i could have. Then I received the guppies **surprise** and had to go buy my betta something else to live in.
So I planned on one tank and now I have three. I have spent almost every penny that I have earned this summer to pay for the fish. GEEZ this stuffs too expensive for a broke college student!!!!!

My dad is really mad because of all the equipment and jnk that is strewn around the house. He blew up at me today and I might have to get rid of everything.
