The teacher was going to just unplug the tank and leave the fish all summer for the 2nd summer in a row. I ended up taking the survivors who have all found another home or a place in my tanks except a pretty male swordtail that's white with black spots and a bright neon yellow tail but unfortunately he looks stunted and has an s shaped spine, and a bright orange female that I thought was a very fat platy but after asking in chat she's definitely too big so I have a very pregnant female swordtail. Will the offspring of this male have bent spines? He is really beautiful otherwise and I wouldn't mind keeping a few more from him. Also I have 2 tanks to choose from: They can go in the 30g tank with the angelfish and 4 yoyo loaches that is quite empty or my 55g community tank which is mostly a mix of small fish like threadfins and sparkling gouramis. For now the rescued fish are hanging out in the 10g I use for growing out plants with a little pimafix added. I'm leaving for 2 weeks and don't really want to leave them in an uncycled 10g. |

If you intend to keep a few fry, both tanks is quite good for them with heavy plants. Floating plants will be very much appreciated. But if you want to keep more fry, then you need to transfer angelfish to other tank or gouramis to the other. Because those two will munch your poor little guys. They only get about 1.5" full grown and some are still babies. I moved the male to the tank with the angel and left the female in the 10g. She's just sitting under an amazon sword. |

It's normal because angels are cichlids but can't swim fast because of thier fins, they do the same chase to the other angels though, so i believe they'll be ok because your gouramis can't fit into the angels mouth... ...but observe anyways!:88) |
