46g bowfront lighting | |
sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | I was just going to set up a 10g nano.. My mom decided it would be great to have "one of those fancy curved glass tanks"(bowfront) in the living room. I'm thinking nah, when she sees the price tag this is gonna end. Well standing in petland my mom and sister are both saying let's get that one (marineland's 90g surfline). By now I'm just staring at them lol Finally after going over the cost of stocking and lighting such a tank they decided on a 46g bowfront. They want it saltwater and this will be my first marine tank. So for liverock, a few corals, and definitely nothing like anemones what do I need to light it? I was thinking power compacts but how many watts of that do I need? Anyone know where to get glass canopy for bowfronts? And maybe a cheaper way to light it than ordering a double striplight at nearly the cost of tank and stand combined... |

Although I'm not sure how this aqualights would fit on a bow front. I assume just fine as the sides of the tank should be pretty standard. Aqualights |

You want to use this http://store.yahoo.com/lamps-now/362xcoraqpch.html I am not a huge fan of PC lights but with a Bow-front it is hard to do much else. If you don't want to spend as much they make a single bulb hood for about half that cost. Ok if I was you I would probably spend a bit more and go with http://store.yahoo.com/lamps-now/363lavhoreki.html [span class="edited"][Edited by Azizza 2004-09-08 15:40][/span] |
