7gal nano - best fish choice? | |
minibow7 Small Fry Posts: 4 Kudos: 6 Votes: 0 Registered: 23-Oct-2004 | Hey folks, new here. I set up a 7 gallon nano with really good LR and its been cycling for about 2 weeks now. I retrofitted the hood with 32watt 50/50 PC for some future soft corals. I do weekly 15% water changes. I also added a modified AC500 fuge filled with LR rubble and chaeto for nutrient export....its a pod factory. Anyway, im looking for ONE reef safe small fish for my nano. I'd like to hear your voices, out of this list, what do you think is most appropriate, bio-load wise and spacewise? Again, this will be the ONLY FISH. If this is the only fish in my 7g, will he have enough space and the system able to support him? I'll be feeding mysis/formula one twice a week. |

They were the fist fish/invert(Well, besides some hermits and snails) into my 75 gallon. They would do fine in a 7 gallon. In fact, they will probably do better in a smaller tank, especially if there are no other fish. They are out a lot, but dart back into their burrow if any other fish swim near them. Without that threat they will be out more for sure. When they were alone my pair was out very often. The fish is almost always visible still, but the shrimp doesn't venture out nearly as much. |

That would make me hesitant to put one in a tank as small as 7 gallons. I'd say no, but I guess its a viable option. I would defentinally say no to the Clownfish though. |
