Does anyone know of anything to get the algae off the walls of my tank? For some reason, my snail isn't interested in the algae on the walls. Is there any sort of water treatment that i can use? Thanks for the advice!

Get a mag float and a razor. Use the mag float daily or every other day, and use the razor when you get in there for a water change.

As the post above stated, manual labor is the best alge remover. If you are young get an adult to use a razor. Something similar to a credit card or drivers license will also work a little less effectively, but much more safely.

Over feeding can lead to excess algae, as can direct exposure to sunlight.

Adding a chemical is risky to the other inhabitants in the tank, even if the label claims it is safe.

Thanks...I have been using a paper towel between water changes, which seems to work. Although it comes back pretty quick.

Is the algea brown/tan in color? If it is then its just diatom algae and is common in sw tanks. Manual removal and scraping is the easiest way to get rid of it (as stated above).

How often are you doing water changes, what size tank, and how much are you changing? Do you add iodine?
