30+ lbs of live rock and a koralia 2 is a good start. I'd personally use a coralife super skimmer 65 or the octopus HOB protein skimmer. Both will make your life A LOT easier. You can use a HOB filter for running chemical media like carbon, phosguard, or purigen.

Its supposed to be a filter that makes doing water changes not necessary for months at a time....and keeps all of your water levels exactly where they need to be

How exactly does that powerhead work....do you just plud and air pump into it or what....

Alot of people have tols me using 30 pounds of lives rock and a skimmer would be fine but i just dont see how that would keep my water where it needed to be.....everyone made it sound like saltwater was near impossible to keep until i started hearing about using the rock and a skimmer....now it doesnt sound hard at all

I don't believe in filters that make claims like that. usually rubbish. My prescription for a good sw setup is 1lb of rock per gallon, lots of flow, about an inch of somewhat fine sand (not crushed coral), and a decent skimmer. If you can get a sump in there with a refugium, even better.

The powerhead gets put into the tank and plugged into the outlet. A propeller spins to generate lots of current.
