Nitrates out of control! Help tap water updated | |

You will find them mentioned on several forums across the internet and people who have had their unit for years. They are one of the most commonly mentioned RO units. I ended up with mine because it was recommended to me on 3 different forums several times over and I couldn't find anyone that had anything bad to say about them. Filterdirect probably comes in a close 2nd and is also sold on ebay. The units sold by aquarium companies are at best way overpriced and sometimes contain cheap parts. For what you'd pay for that pure flo unit you could get one off ebay of just as good of quality that can produce 3 times as much water(150gpd). |

I get 0-2ppm TDS(Measure of purity - mine's about as good as it gets) all the time. I'm pretty sure it's a completely different membrane/housing, that isn't interchangeable and somehow compensates. What you all think? started from 40 all the way down to 15 now over the last 4 days usally it would be off the charts now! Also i stopped using amquil just so that didnt throw me off! Also do you all think i should add a little more then? I got about 3 3/4 to 4in in some spots i figure another 20-40lb would put me at a nice 5-6in http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2571255/2 |

There are a few things to keep in mind when setting one up though. Try taking a look at some of these articles.http://www.wetwebmedia.com/deepsandbeds.htm dsb.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.reef-aquarium.net/resources/rocksubstrate/dsb.html http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-06/rs/feature/index.php |
