What i am tryin to accomplish here is a set up with a 75G and a 35G Sump. In the sump i am splitting into 2 sides "dirty side" and "clean side" i am a lil confused on getting the water from the main tank into the dirty side of the sump then into the clean side. I tried looking on the net couldnt really find much, i am basically just looking for general info and equipment that is necessary to accomplish this. Thank you in advance

This is my sump. Water automatically flows from right to left. I used an overflow to get water from the tank down through #4. Water then flows through the baffles#3 which help to keep all the bubbles and what not over in the right section. #2 is the refugium where algaes pull out nutrients from the water for nutrient export. Finally my mag 350 pumps water back up to the tank #1.

If you want a wet/dry drip system you install it at #4. I didn't do this as I heard that they tend to produce more nitrAtes than are wanted in a reef tank. I let the live rock do most of the filtration.

There's really no way around an overflow of some sort. Just make sure that the syphon doesn't break when the power goes out, that would be fatal. Sometimes you have to pay more for a well designed overflow.

My Amiricle does it's job(though loudly). It was $50 without my discount though. I'm not sure Amiricle is in business anymore, but you might find some out there still.
