Powerheads and Sump Size...two seperate questions | |
terranova Fish Master Posts: 1984 Kudos: 1889 Votes: 229 Registered: 09-Jul-2003 | Okey dokey...set up is a 72 RR bow, gunna be a reef. Now...for the sump, anybody have any ideas? Space under the stand is pretty limited, with the widest part of the stand only being about 15". I want to get the most efficient sump under there possible, but I'm having trouble finding a good container/tank/tub whichever... Secondly...powerheads. Suggestions? How many? Brands? -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |

Not cheap, but not very expensive either for what it is. There is always a bigger fish... |

Can't remember the name of them, but the input comes from the pump, and the output back into the tank, changes to different outputs every so many seconds or minutes. There is always a bigger fish... |

I would run your return pump off of the SCWD, and leave room behind the tank so you can run piping and run a closed loop for more flow if/when you start to get into the higher current loving corals. |

I will be putting the 8 way on a 180 in a few months. The 4 way will do nicely in a tank like Liana's. There is always a bigger fish... |

I have 4 maxijet 1200 powerheads and I pretty much hate them. The narrow flow is a pain, and stresses everything in the tank. I wish I would have gone with more of the little ones than less of the big ones, but I wish I had Seios more than anything. |

That being said I would like to upgrade to the squirt or oceansmotions setup! |
