Question About Protein Skimmer | |

You will just have to play with it, and get it dialed in to where it does the best job. The nastys, should be a dark green color, and frothy and even may be considered dry. Get a toothbrush to clean off your container everytime you empty it. Once or twice a week is all you need to be emptying it. If you are doing it more than that, it is too high. If you have bubbles going back into the tank, it is set to high. In some skimmers you can adjust the water flow as well, but unfortunately I believe you cannot with this particular skimmer. If I am wrong, then you have even more playing around to do, as you will need to also adjust the water flow with the air flow to get the most optimum amount. If I remember correctly, those come with a little round looking piece as an air flow valve. IMO get rid of it, and get one of those plastic T like pieces that has a screw type valve on it. You will be able to dial in the correct amount of air flow much better with it. HTH.... There is always a bigger fish... |
