Do you want coral, are you going to get a protein skimmer, how many fish you're planning on getting, etc. Here's a basic list of what you'll need to get a saltwater tank setup w/o coral: tank live rock (1-2 pounds per gallon) live sand (enough to cover about 1-2" of your tank) powerheads heater thermometer test kit (nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, ph) protein skimmer (not a must, but helpful) R.O. water HTH, Nemo |

Depending on what you want to keep in it, your set up will vary greatly. The most important thing will be what type of lighting.
