I have been involved in the freshwater career for a long time now, and i was thinking about getting involved in the saltwater aspect of fishkeeping. But I am going to college in a couple months and in college, you are not allowed to have anything over 10 gallons. So, my options are as follows:
1. Trasnfer my 20 gallon into a saltwater tank and buy everything i need. (i am thinking it would be more expesive than a nano) And try to convince my mom to do salt water changes, etc.
2. Buy a 12-gallon nano with 1-24 watt bulb and have a FOWLR. (I could bring a 12 gallon to college)
3. Buy a 12-gallon nano with 2 24 watt bulbs and have a reef tank.

Could i have anemones or feather dusters successfully in option 2? What would you do? What would be the best option?

Well lets see if your going to be going to college are you gonna have the money to start a reef tanks? If so go with the 12gal. reef, If your gonna be pinching pennies i would go with the 12gal. FOWLER, but i think you could have feather duster but IMO i would stay away from anemone, most of them require a little more space than 12 gal.

Ok so i think i am going to go with the nano with one 24 watt bulb. Or do you really think it would be worth it to get the one with two 24 watt bulbs? Could i do a lot more with it?

i would go with the two bulbs, that way if you go for some corals or inverts they will have the light. With salt water you really cant have enought light.
