Thinking about going darkside on a small scale | |
Sleepy Fingerling Posts: 31 Kudos: 37 Votes: 5 Registered: 06-Oct-2005 | Would it be at all worth it to have a 20 L or 20 H with a 5-10 G sump? Speaking soft corals, mushrooms and a few fish. Would this taqnk even be worth trying as my first Salt water? Im really limited with tank sizes (going to college) so thats why. What do yall think? I have never done any saltwater, ive done some research tho. |

I'd go with a 10 gallon sump though, a 5 won't do much for ya. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I'd still say only a few small fish though. I'm glad I went with a big sump. It really helped me keep mistakes small when I first started out. It also helps keep the water clean(dilution), as long as you don't stock the display like it's 40G. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

More water will just keep things more stable. Read the beginners article stickied to the top of general marine. It'll help you out with that. -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |
