 | Top Fathom TF100A Skimmer Setup: Help Needed! |
jeffrey_ropp Hobbyist Posts: 145 Kudos: 33 Votes: 2 Registered: 26-May-2003   | I'm having trouble setting up a TF100A skimmer from Top Fathom. For some reason, I can't seem to adjust the water level. It doesn't seem to matter how I position the water level control coupling. Here's a diagram from a similar model: http://topfathom.com/hobbyins1-1.gif Could it be that the pump is too powerful? I doubt this because the the pump was used by a previous owner with the skimmer. DarkRealm Overlord     Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002  | Jeff, have you tried to elevate or lower the water level on the skimmer where it sits in the sump. Some in sump models have a water line where the water in the sump needs to sit in order for them to work the way they are suppose to. If it is a venturi skimmer then the more powerful the pump the better it will operate. Im running a mag drive 36 on my Lifereef skimmer and they only recommend a mag drive 9.5 |
