I am looking into buying a new protein skimmer, after finding out and witnessing that SeaClones are lemons i was wondering if corais life skimmers were efficient.is there a big difference in skimmers? i know that it all isnt about price and i would hate to skip a good deal.

Coralife skimmers, depending on what one you are talking about are pretty decent skimmers.

i know that it all isnt about price and i would hate to skip a good deal.

Actually...with skimmers Price and quality tend to go hand in hand

Yup, the one you are talking about is worth it. I know several reef club members that are using them and are happy with them

I agree with DRO, the price and quality go hand in hand. However, you do not need a big fancy expensive one for smaller tanks. IMO, the SeaClone does a fine job for smaller tanks. I used one on my 30 gal tall. I thought it did a fine job.

im using it on my 55 and adjusted it to where it doesnt spill any micro bubbles into my tank and all i get is brown water. the inner tube of the collection cup is the only part that gets dirty. maybe it is because dont have a full bioload yet...

Is it on a new tank?
If it is, then yes, it will not do much till the tank is fully cycled and has a bioload in it. Usually about a month or two you should see it working.
