do i need salt so that my liev rock will coem alive | |

greenmonkey51 Fish Master Posts: 1571 Kudos: 1692 Votes: 5 Registered: 28-Jan-2004 | If the coraline algae and other stuff on the rock died a long time ago then you would need to buy some more live rock and the new stuff would seed the old rock.I think that I heard that it takes 6 months for non live rock to be fully seeded. Also yes if you want live rock it would need to be in full saltwater. |

Until you add salt to the water and get the specific gravity to where it needs to be AND cycle the tank I wouldnt consider it "up and running" i put in the live rock that died some tiem ago i am wondering how loong it will take for it to grow back and do i need salt in teh water for this to hapen The rock you put in if it is dead is not "live" rock...it is infact ba Slow down....way down, and take some time to do a LOT of reading and research [hr width='40%'] Hoping you are dreaming of me too...
