I want to get 200 watt, 10,000k MH lighting for my 75 gallon. What am I going to need in my hood? I'm very confused as to what you need to supplement your lighting (actinic ligthing etc.) Then do you just have a canopy built for all it?

Then on weight. Could you keep a 75 gallon on a second floor. Then also, does a stand provide much more support than a dresser or something of that sort? Could I keep one on there rather than purchasing a stand?

Thanks

I have a 75 Gallon tank with a 30 gallon SUmp on my second floor. So yes it is safe as long as you live in a well built house.

You do not want to put a tank that large on a Dresser or something similar. A stand is made to distribute the weight correctly and support the tank where it needs it. A dresser is built to hold things internally. Two very different things.

Ok on lighting. you can have 175 or 250 Watt lights.. I dont' know of any 200s.
I suggest two 250 Watt 10,000K MH lamps backed up by 2 110 Watt Actinic VHOs.. Mount it in a Canopy that you have built

Yea, Im not sure what 200 watt MH your talking about. You'll need at least 2 MH lights though. The rule is 1 MH for ever 2' of tank. Your 75 gallon will be 4' long, so you'll need two MH bulbs.
