10 Sharks Killed At Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium | |
Adam Administrator Posts: 1090 Registered: 25-Jul-2000 | Human error is being blamed for the deaths of 10 black-tip reef sharks at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. Investigators said ozone was accidentally introduced to the shark tank Saturday afternoon. Much like chlorine, ozone is an energized form of oxygen that is used to purify water. I can see how ozone would be in close enough proximity to the tank to be introduced by accident, if it entered through a mishap with an ozonizer. |
