IMO, swords only look decent in tanks over 125 gallons... otherwise they take up most of the tank ![]() You might just want to take the thing back ![]() |

My amazon sword outgrew my 55g within about 5months. I planted some babies from it and when I upgrade my tank I'm going to pull it out and sell it back to the store. Amazon swords do need supplements such as iron but not in the water or the liquid type. They need solid root tabs or spikes shoved underneath them. Amazon swords can grow in fairly low light but I would consider 1wpg or 20w on your tank to be the lowest light level for growing plants. Room lights are not good for plants. The bulbs/tubes we use for house lights are really yellow and don't carry the correct spectrum of lighting. You need to be looking for tubes that are labelled daylight or say between 6500k-6700k. I've never heard of an amazon leaf and can't find any info on it. There is a narrow leaf amazon sword but I have no idea what plant you were looking for instead. |
