Algae on leaves | |
aquapickle27 Enthusiast Posts: 182 Kudos: 98 Votes: 55 Registered: 28-Jan-2006 | I have a green stringy algae on some of my broad leaved plants. Any ideas as to what could be the cause? I am very new to the planted aquarium and have only had this one up for about a month. Any tips or advice for a beginner? †Aquapickle† |

I was unknowingly probably adding flourish iron when it wasn't necessary. Thanks for the links Garry they were very helpful. †Aquapickle† |

ScottF Fish Addict Addiction Hurts!! Posts: 542 Kudos: 330 Votes: 355 Registered: 28-May-2007 | I have had a tough time ridding myself of brown algae on my plants. I finally broke down and bought a gold algae eater. It was also suggested to me to up the amount of time my lites are on. But, the lighting suggestion I believe, is specific to brown algae. The GAE is doing nicely at cleaning up! |
