For all of you plants fanatics, I have found a plant retailer in Singapore with some lovely plants which I've not seen or heard of before. They are not cheap, especially when you add shipping (you need to email him for plants and shipping quote), but he has some amazing plants there. The URL is www.greenchapter.com.

I have ordered some plants from him once and although it took most of them a couple of weeks to recover, they have all survived and are now growing.

His plant selection really makes me want to move to Singapore...

Untitled,

Get over here to Jakarta instead, I'll hook you up with some good deals

Bensaf,

The far east seems to be an aquarium plant heaven... I gave this URL to a guy from Brazil who is going to make an order for plants which are native to Brazil but which he cannot buy in Brazil for some reason.

I was enquiring about his Eriocaulon sp from Australia "RED" and the price for those is $45 per plant + $39 for shipping. Another plant I was asking about is $100 per plant. With those prices I think I'd be better off travelling around the world collecting plants than going to Jakarta...

It is. Got the climate for it so they can be grown cheaply.

That's a nice site I've bookmarked it. I'm only an hour from Singapore so it might be of interest.

I'd be worried about paying that much in case the darn thing died on me. Now that would upset me.]

Bensaf,

Yes, it is a nice site and the guy is very friendly too. He's thrown in some free plants on my first (and so far last) order and have even offered a discount on several plants. I know I'm going to get that plant one day, but not just yet.

Yes, the plant dying on you is a bit worrying, but he guarantees live plants upon arrival and will replace any dead plants, but you have to pay the shipping. As for the plant dying on you after you get it, it's the same like people who buy expensive fish, the fish might die on them anyway, it's a risk you sometimes decide to take.

You'll have to excuse me now. He said I could arrange getting this plant together with friends -- he would give me a $10 discount if we bought 10 plants, so I gotta go out and make some friends.
