that is very fast for an anubias, you are very lucky, my anubias lancelotta hasnt grown a bit since I put it in my tnak, but also when I got it, it was a small semi rotten rhizome with wilted leaves (last year) its growing slowly, but I would like a dense anubias chunk NOW

it most likely due to the water parameters and the plants overall health, keep up the good work!

do you fertilize or so anything special?

well my water parameters are all good, my nitrate IMO is good for the plants at about 10-15 ppm some times it gets up to 20ppm but then i WC it back to about 10ppm. i fertilize with an 0-0-3 solution using tetras FloraPride.

hmmm after a bit of reading just now I realized the anubias variety I have is the slowest or nearly slowest at growth rate...

so i ordered an nana petite!

how often do you dose? daily or when you do a WC?

ok ok yeah I've been recently dosing daily for my ~13g tank (in my threads called "re-dping 15g "bow-front hex"" )

nana will hopefully be a good choice for my cherry shrimp as well as a bit faster of a grower...

what variety of anubias do you have?

Yeah, that does sound like pretty fast growth. My nana grows very slowly, but on the other hand I don't fertilize much.

well the reason i got the anubias was to suck up nitrates. i wanted real plants to suck up nitrates so i wouldnt have to do constant WC. i was limited on what plants i could plant the tank with as its low light, on the plus side though it isnt directly in front of my bedroom window but does get decent light hitting the tank as its fairly close. that is probably helping. on plant wasnt denting the nitrates to much so i figured i could just heavely plant it since anubias is kind of a slow grower, then things just took of.

If you want nitrate removal than Anubias is probably not your plant. You'll want water sprite or something that grows quickly; the faster they grow, the more nutrients they use.
