I have some ambulia in my tank (forget the latin name, know it isnt called ambulia anymore), and its growing like weeds. I keep trimming it once a week and planting it all along the edges of my tank. Once I fill up, I plan to sell bunches of this plant on EBAY or Aquabid. How much should I start bidding on this plant do you think? I was thinking a single bunch would be a good handful, or approx. 12 stems at least 6 inches tall.
What would you pay for a bunch like this?
picture of ambulia jungle Not the greatest picture, but it shows all the ambulia well. I have trimmed again since this picture was taken and am still filling in all the gaps behind the driftwood and around the sides with ambulia.

No offense, but as a buyer I'd pay less for yours because the internodes are so long. Not that the plant wouldn't put out more compact growth when placed in a brighter tank, but as a consumer, I'm looking for ideal growth before as well as after I put it in.
I'd say about $1.50 for ten stems, and you might want to photograph the tops rather than the whole stem to try and hide the long internodes.

i thought they grew bushier in lower light?

I have 2.5wpg, mine are sending out adventurous shoots all over the place, the internodes are about 20 - 25mm apart.

I wouldnt have thought it was worth the effort tho, was too much effort for me...

Total Sale Price: 2.70
Postage: 0.60
Bag: 0.05
Envelope: 0.20
Paypal Fees: 0.29
Profit: 1.56...

then i had to go to the post office on my lunch break, que for 10 mins, before deciding that the ladies behind the counter are taking to long... weigh the envelope myself, then buy the stamps and post it... ugh

Higher light causes more compact growth and shorter internodes.

Well, I have been checking, and considering I paid 5.99 in the fish store for a group of 3 stems and thats how long the internodes were when I bought it. I am going to group cuttings, of course from the top of the plant where the internodes are shorter, 6 stems, and am going to sell them on either Ebay or Aquabid for starting bids of 3.99USD and then shipping will cost approx. 8.00 to anywhere in Canada.
I saw a set of 2 stems looking grungy as hell sell on Ebay yesterday for 10.99 Canadian plus 14.00 shipping!
Crazy what people will pay.
I am probably going to also sell a "package"- 10 Stems Ambulia of 6" in length, 2 Valisneria Tiger 2 inch tall shoots, and 1 medium size wisteria plant approx. 6" tall. Shipping would still be about 8.00 in Canada, and then I could probably fetch between 12-20 bucks for that grouping.
I paid massive prices for some of my plants here. And I have also noticed, very few people on Ebay or Aquabid sell Plants within Canada.
I bet there is a pretty big buyer base out there that dont want to pay duty or the high shipping costs from south of the border.
