But I'm not sure what they are. The girl had less of a clue than I did (I'm think they're all crypts of some sort and she agreed enough to mark them as such ![]() ![]() Crypt balansae? Or something else? ![]() The undersides of the leaves are sort of reddish purple. ![]() The undersides are more of a reddish brown on this one. Any ideas? In any case, I think I got a good deal on it all... she only charged me for two plants, marked at 1.99 a piece. ![]() Last edited by Kitten at 23-Feb-2005 11:46 ~Meow. And the third one doesn't look like the wendtii I already have... ![]() Last edited by Kitten at 23-Feb-2005 12:22 ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

It makes for a great aquascape. |

Still doesn't look like my wendtii, but I guess maybe it will when it matures? *shrugs* As for the lobelia... bah... thought it was a crypt. I don't HAVE any high light tanks, except maybe the 20 gallon, which is more "medium" than high. *goes to research* ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

In fact, mine do great in both low and high light (15 watts, 20 gallons, you do the math ![]() |

Robert H![]() Small Fry Posts: 12 Kudos: 5 Votes: 0 Registered: 16-Mar-2003 | Lobelia cardinalis is only red or purple above water. Under water it turns green. The reason it is red when you buy it is because it is grown in a nursery above water. it will even grow as a terrestrial plant where it gets deep red and has blood red flowers.
