Anubias nana with holes on leaves | |
Mychael Small Fry Posts: 8 Kudos: 4 Votes: 0 Registered: 16-Aug-2006 | I have recently ventured into a real planted tank. I have always wanted to start something small and something low tech with out the hassle of all those high tech equipment ( especially CO2 tank cause I really have no space for it ). There are no fish in there yet as I have been cycling the tank for the past 2 weeks. Just yesterday, I noticed that holes start to appear on 1 or 2 leaves of the Anubias nana. I am not sure what is wrong. Pls advice Below are my parameters, 1x Java fern ( tied to a dirftwood ) 1x Anubias nana ( tied to a driftwood ) some moses. ( tied to some rocks ) 4 gallon tank HOB filter. Temp between 25 deg to 26 deg. Lighting 8W sunlight tube for about 5 hours daily. Weekly water change of about 10% Weekly dose of Sera Florena of about 2.5ml. No water parameters as I do not have a water test kit. I noticed some very fine wriggling worms in the water but not sure if they are resposible for the holes in the leaves. The rest of the plants are doing fine. |

Otherwise, anubius is a very hard to kill plant. Are the holes appearing only on the older leaves and is there any new growth? |

I think the fertilizer you are using must have the macro nutrients. Just wait for some new leaves to turn up and if they are ok, you should be fine. The plant might have faced this deficiency at the store u got it from. After the new leaves appear and the old ones haunt u, simply remove them! |
