The madagascar laceleaf are much harder to take care of than other apons. To the best of my knowledge they need a lot of light, nutricious substrate, and a dormant period. Not a beginners plant.

The main requiremet for Madagascar Lace is cool water. It's very difficult and growth is poor in tropical temps. 24-26o is pretty much max. It needs a decent enough fert regime, especially micros, not particularly difficult to supply it's needs if you have a well run well planted tank.

Definately not a beginners plant. I'd wait 'til you have a bit more experience under you're belt.
