I have a few of these that i recently bought at walmart. I just had a question. What types of aponogeton plants come in these packages? Maybee you have these right now or had them once before. Just curious.

I bought mine on saturday and put them in a tank on saturday. They didnt sprout yet though. what i meen by different kinds is the varieties. Such as marbled and a black angelfish. They are part of the same family but are different types.

I fhtey came as bulbs then they should be any of these:

Aponogeton madagascarensis
Aponogeton crispus

Those are the only ones that have bulbs

I bought some apons from WalMart over two weeks ago and only 3 sprouted but they are taking over the tank! All three of them are touching the top of the water. I'm not sure what kind they are but they have really long stalks and the leaves are at the top which are different from apons I have seen before (many apons I have seen have leaves that sprout closer to the bottom). Then on top of the water they have little tiny white fuzzy flowers. Not sure what kind these are but maybe someone can identify them from my description.

They sound like an Aponogeton Undulatus to me, really big plants, and they have the flower you describe.

Have you had the problem of 1 or 2 from the package not sinking? What did you do? Will it eventually sink when they sprout?

To help them sink, I squeeze the bulb so water gets in and it eventually sinks.

Vic they will grow on top of the water too. Then when they develop roots you can bury them a little.

Yeah thats what i do. I just squeeze them to get enoupgh air out so they sink. I have 2 more questions now.
1- 1 of the 3 that sprotted has gone limp and turned white and is just waving in the water like a piece of lettuce. What is this?
2- 1 of the 3 that sprotted has a shoot on it that it has a head like growht on it. What is it.?

1- I am not clear on what you are saying, is it the bulb that is white or is it the leaves? If it's the bulb, don't worry about it...it's just a fuzz.

2- The shoot is a stem that will soon bloom into a white flower.
