I've just cleaned out the tank as best I can, and was hoping to toss in a bit of erythromyacin tabs to kill off the cyano. Question is, will the EM tabs hurt my lil shrimpies? ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Main thing is adding the KNO3 and keep adding it thereafter to prevent BGA's return. KNO3 is very cheap and will help your plants grow much better, next to CO2 and light, it's the next best thing you can add to help plant growth. Happy plants= happy fish/shrimp and no algae. It's simple and effective and yields a nice tank. Then the main issue is what to do with all these plants...... Regards, Tom Barr |

I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt them. I think my problem is that the tank gets quite a bit of light and has a single betta (plus the two shrimp) in there, so there's not exactly a plethora of waste to MAKE a lot of KNO3. I'm going to see if I can pick some up tomorrow. *crosses fingers* It's got quite a few plants, but they're all crypts and anubias... not exactly fast growers. ![]() ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
