Well went to the large pet store to get some shrimp for my puffers, and picked up this plant, they didnt know what any of there plants where and i saw some smaller swords I think but they told me they didn't have time to look them up. Ugh, anyways I don't have a clue what it is but I got two of them for four dollars this is the bigger of the two. I did however get a tagalong which looks like it may be grass it was mostly root with a couple of little pieces of green hope it grows to something nice.

The plant you have is the Banana Plant (Nymphoides aquatica).
I am not certain wether or not it can tolerate brackish
conditions but I doubt it can.

check out [link=http://www.tropica.com]http://www.tropica.com" style="COLOR: #2080ff[/link] on the drop down tab
there is a brackish water category, they provide a list of
all plants that willg row in brackish water.

Also I do not believe that paradise fish can tolerate brackish
water. what are your overall intentions with the tank?

HTH,
Megil.
