This post concerns the plant Bolbitis Fern(Bolbitis heudilotii). Around september of 2004, The fish stores were practically throwing this at their customers at around $2.00 a piece. I cannot seem to find in good health any more though(algae on it). I was at a fish store last thursday that had it with algae(brown). Should i go there this weekend and see if they got any better specimens in, if they did not, would it be safe to buy since this type of algae seems to come off with just a finger rub? Plus, i always disinfect plants in alum. |

If i cut all of the leaves off of them will the plant live just as a rhizome(only 2 leaves each)? The leves are a little raggid. It only has two leaves because my clowns love to snip the new bud off when they come up. I will only have one piece of wood available for one and a rock for the other. I suppose one will do fine on a rock. Should i rubberband them to the wood or stone or fishing line? |
