I decided to go to this pet store down in Maryland yesterday as a good way to end the summer before school starts. They have tons of different species of aquarium plants. I was looking around and saw a tank with clumps of what appeared to be java moss. It turned out to be Christmas moss- had to buy some for only $5. I went further down the aisle and found narrow leaved java fern for only $4(it came with 4 rhizomes).
-I have the moss tied to some driftwood and over a clay pot. The ferns are tied to pieces of shale rock.
-Any advice? I already have java moss, lace and regular java fern growing good.

clownloachfan,

Good finds there, I was only able to get both of them online. As you had moss and fern before you should be fine, you may want to know that Xmas Moss needs a little more light than Java Moss though.

Have fun with it,

I have 1.25 watts of fluorescent lighting over my 29 gallon. The Rotala indica seems to like it. What about temperature?

clownloachfan ,

It grew and still grows very nicely in my tanks at 76 to 80 F. It also grew at 2wpg in my 20G Long. And it grows with and without CO2. But all my tanks get the at least biweekly shot of Excel and ferts.
