This is just a quick question which I think I know the answer to? Is there any way to save my Water Hycintha and my Water Lettuce from the cruel touch of Winter ? I understand I could put them in my tanks, but they all have a cover. Wouldn't this cause them to rot away? Could I keep them in a bucket with a light? Help please.... I like them. Thanks.

Tank covers can be removed in order to accesss the tank.
If you have enough flourescent light in there, they should survive, and may even grow.. I'm concerned though about the temp difference between the pond, and your tank.. Is there much of a difference ? If so, I wonder if you can somehow acclimate the plants slowly to the difference in temp ?

A bucket with some gravel (and maybe some fert tabs in the gravel) and a flourescent lamp (can fit a compact flourescent bulb into a 'normal' light fitting easily) might also work.

The Amazon Nut...
