Does anyone know of any organizations in Canada where you could buy or trade cuttings with people?

If not, why not organize one?

I don't know about the rest of you, but quality aquatic plants cost me $12 per plant. I've seen an Anubius Nana sold for $26. Maybe this is standard, but it's always seemed a little costly to me. They are quality Tropica plants, but still, with no other alternatives, it's unfortunate.

I could order over the internet, but shipping is wicked expensive.

So why not have a cuttings exchange with other aquatic growers? Person A could list - on a website - what plants he has, and Person B could request what she wanted, and when Person A did his trimming, he could send his cuttings along to Person B.

Now, I know this would only work with certain plants, like stem plants that can be replanted, or Anubius sp., or Java Moss and Ferns, but it still seems like a good idea to me.

If anyone agrees, or can forsee any problems, please speak up.

Well, many aquarists trade with other online aquarists on such as:

...as well as through various local aquarium societies. For instance, I just got some Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia, Cryptocoryne belansae, and some Echinodorus tenellus from an aquarist friend that live a few blocks from me who is also a fellow aquarium society member.
