Now I have 2 aquaclear 300 on the tank, but I know alot of people run canisters. I am thinking about changing, but wanted to get some advice.

Thanks in advance

are you running a co2 system on your tank at all?

The only reason to go with cannister over HOB on a planted IMO is that HOB's will often lead to CO2 loss which is a problem if you are injecting CO2. However if you keep the water level high you don't get all that much surface agatation on your tanks. I have 1 AC 500 running on my 30 gallon and unless the water level has dropped I really have to look close to see if the filter is running.

I inject C02 into one of the AC so it churn the bubble all up.

well, i used to use a canister on my 50g tank, but it was too powerful for my plants. they used to get literally blown out of the gravel from the current as long as you get one that is rated for your tank it should be fine. personally, i would rather go back to canister for my planted tank since a HOB will cause too much surface agitation once the tank level drops down
