About a week ago I picked up some live plants, and in the Java Moss was this little plant with a rhizome... hmmmm? Looks like Nana (Anubias Barteri 'Nana'), any ideaers? Anubias aren't that cheap either!

Yep. It's definately an Anubias and looks small enough to be a Nana.

Just tie it to a piece of wood or a small rock and it should do quite nicely. Lucky find.

ooh well done! Sure does look like anubias nana.

Some of the roots look soft (or it might just be the pic). If they are, remove all the soft areas with a sharp pair of scissors so the rot doesn't set into the rhizome. Then just tuck it into a corner or tie it to a piece of wood or rock and wait to see what happens.

Good eye whetutu, some of the roots are turning brown and going soft. It was tucked between two rocks in a 20 gal. but came loose and is floating right now. I'm going to tie it down tomorrow.

I priced some Nana not to long ago (it was a real nice plant) at a LFS, it was going for something like $25CDN! ... sorry? how many plants would that buy me??? *put's arms up in air like being held up*

Thanks for the input

That's a pretty good freebie to! I had to pay for my Fern And if they grow well you'll have some nice plants down the road.

Was it just the rhizome?
