I have some Crypts Willisii and I can tell that its melting. Thats not what I'm concerned about but I've noticed that some stems have soften at the leaf end. Should I clip those off?

Clip them once they're almost completely melted.

Where's the best place to clip them? At the beginning of the stem or the end?

OMG

Now many of the stems have almost completely shriveled up! Some of the stems have even partially disintegrated. The leaves and stems have turned white-ish.

Should I leave them alone or clip them? And if so, at what part of the crypt?

You can clip them as far down as you like, since they're not going to send out a new leag. Whatever you do, don't give up and throw out the root ball - it's very likely to lie dormant for a bit and then start throwing new leaves.

Thanks, I hope they will recover. I'll leave them alone for awhile and see what happens but they look like they're in really bad condition. Although, another crypt beside it looks a little better and only had one stem that melted. The other one, on the other hand, looks to be completely gone in a couple of days. :%)

Have these only recently been planted in your tank?

Yes, about 3 weeks. No more stems have melted since that dreadful day but I'll keep an eye on it.

sly, 3 years ago i had a community tank, and i had a crypt in it, it was blooming until i switched to a convict tank. then they all got eaten. ]

i just recently switched to having angels, and weeks ago, i saw the place where i used to have crypts sprouting new leaves!!!! it was amazing, and now they have 4 leaves now so cool to see something just grow out of my gravel that is valuable and not algae.]
