Should the water be dechlorinated?

Does this recipe sound good:
1/4 teaspoon yeast (oxygenated before putting in bottle)
2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon flour
1 pinch baking soda
??

no need to dechlor, and you might consider 1/2 tsp of yeast instead of 1/4

I'm not sure about the flour - what is the purpose of it? I've never heard of flour being used in a CO2 system, but maybe I'm missing something.

I've heard of using flour with yeast, but normally only if the following steps involve covering with a wet towel and setting ontop of the fridge to rise then kneeding it down and rising in the pan then placing in a 425 oven.

Otherwise my mix is the same as moondogs. I've never bothered with the baking soda although I suppose I should try it one of these days .

The bakign soda is the make the water more basic, which is better for yeast, and the flour is essential for nutrients, since sugar alone is supposedly not sufficient. But I also heard that flour is to complex for yeast to be able to break down and use, but I figured I might as well try....
FYI lol

babel you're such a smart alek sometimes

I just use the yeast, sugar (white or raw), baking soda and water in my CO2 system and it seems to work fine. If you want more complex sugars, take a look at some of the experiments pisces has been doing. She uses stuff like molasses and goodness-knows-what.

I think protein powder is what Pisces is using.

Um, You do know that the baking soda is to reduce the amount of carbonic acid produced when the CO2 dissolves, don't you?

I've been thinking of trying it, but I really can't see the point, my tank runs at 7.4 all the time, so um, yeh.
