I how ever replaced him with Florida Flag Fish, and they do enjoy eating bearded algae and do a great job of it. Even if you get a Siamese Algae Eater after awhile the stop eating algae all together because learn that you will feed them. Myself I use 2 females to 1 male FFF in each tank as a standard part of my maintenance crew.
