I recently bought some four leaf clovers for my tank from an online store and they seem to be struggling. I have plenty of light and nutrients in the tank, I am wondering if maybe they aren't really a true aquatic plant. Any insights?

I say give it some time. They are usually grown emersed and when put underwater it takes them time to adjust. It might look like it's not growing or that it's actually dying, but then some new shoots will probably come out of the gravel around it and they will grow.

At least that's my experience with it...

Mine lost all it's original leaves and was just a mass of stems for awhile. Eventually it will adapt and you should see new leaves. In lower light it will be 1 leaf clover and grow taller and in really high light(4wpg for mine) it will grow the 4 leaves and be a lot shorter.

Thanks guys. You are right on. I have cut all the original decaying leeaves off and it is a mass of stems, but there are also a bunch of smaller four leaf clovers coming up. I was concerned because they are much smaller and I thought that was bad, but clearly its because I have a lot of light shining in there.

Thanks!

It's been since February (I think) and my clovers are barely spreading. They're just slow growers. Just be careful of algae, as it LOVES slow growing plants.
