I bought some new awesome plants for my 20 gallon long planted tank. I don't know what they are called, but they look like sword plants except the last inch of the tip of each sword leaf looks like wisteria. It is really cool. Does anyone know what this is?

Sounds alot like Microsorium pteropus v. Wendelov - Java Fern "Wendelov".

Does this look like your plant?

Definately sounds like one of the Java Fern varieties developed by Tropica. Almost certainly either Wendelov Fern (dark green) or Lace Java Fern (brighter green).

Just don't try to bury it in the gravel like a sword. It does better attached to wood or rock. If you do put it in the gravel make sure not to bury the rhizome (the thick stalk like thing above the roots that the stems grow from).

Yep, that's definately a Java Fern Wendelov. A little bit more decorative then normal Java Fern but just as un-demanding to keep.

I find the leaves don't grow as big as the regular Java Fern and overall seems to grow a little slower. Looks great tied on to overhanging driftwood branches a whole branch covered in it is very decorative.

It's a really cool plant, but the only drawback i can find for it, is that almost all the specimens that i've seen tend to develop black algae on the tips, i have no idea why, but if you see the tips starting to turn black prune them.
