I don't know what they are called, but they look like sword plants except the last inch of the tip of each sword leaf looks like wisteria. It is really cool. Does anyone know what this is? ~*~ Caviar? no thanks! ~*~ |

Does this look like your plant? ![]() [span class="edited"][Edited by EdgarFanCLS 2004-07-12 14:59][/span] AndyCLS attached this image: [img]http://www.fishprofiles.net/attachments/394674.jpg"] |

Almost certainly either Wendelov Fern (dark green) or Lace Java Fern (brighter green). Just don't try to bury it in the gravel like a sword. It does better attached to wood or rock. If you do put it in the gravel make sure not to bury the rhizome (the thick stalk like thing above the roots that the stems grow from). Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

A little bit more decorative then normal Java Fern but just as un-demanding to keep. I find the leaves don't grow as big as the regular Java Fern and overall seems to grow a little slower. Looks great tied on to overhanging driftwood branches a whole branch covered in it is very decorative. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |
