Dwarf Hairgrass (Eleocharis parvula)
OR...
Java Moss (Vesicularia dubyana)

wich would be easier 2 keep?(for a lazy person who doesent want 2 spend hours (or minutes) taking care of plants)By the way, this would be the first time the person (who shall remain unnamed) will have kept plants in his tank,Low lighting.

(he is planning on getting 6 panda cories, 6 long finned serpe tetras 4 platies.

what is the grass like stuff on the bottom of most of thease tanks?---

For low light you'll want java moss, I'm fairly sure that dwarf hairgrass requires much higher lighting, and also takes a bit of maintence.

Java fern will end up collecting alot of the waste that wanders around your tank though.

The tanks in the pictures belong to Takashi Amano, probably the most famous aquascpaer around.

While I can't see clearly the pics he typically uses Riccia as ground cover. Not a plant for the lazy as it requires a lot of maintenace.

Most of the grass type plants require high light and strong maintenance regimes.

For the easy to maintain tank use Anubias, Ferns, Crypts. Forget about grasses or carpets.
