If you are from the Bay area, please come join the SFBAAPS plant club, the oldest local plant club in the nation!

We have plant swaps, and many run off with lots of free plants, or algae eating shrimp, or other goodies for free.

We have ferts in bulk for basically free to cost, name brand traces(TMGm, Flourish etc), KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4, CaCl2, etc, we offer CO2 tanks 10-15-20lbs for 50$ filled and a fun group full of friendly folks. 30% discount for the BarrReport year rate.
I also offer open house host a full analysis of their water parameters with a spectrophotometer(NH4, NO3, PO4, Fe, Mn, Zn, CO2 etc), DO meter among other testing goodies.

You will learn how to grow plants very well quickly and make great new plant friends.

Regards,
Tom Barr

That would be awesome if I didn't live all the way across the country. I wish there was one in Buffalo, especially for the bulk ferts and plant swaps.

Wow - I'm jealous.

If I ever make it out to San Francisco I'll have to plan my trip around one of your meetings. I would also love to have a club like that in the area.

Hey Matty maybe we should meet halfway or something.....Great Lakes area group maybe? - I guess that would be somewhere between St. Catherines & Niagara Falls. :%)

I'm down for that - if you're serious I could probably put up a flyer in the lfs I work at.

Yes, do not wish for what others have built, build your own!

If you are in the area, it's worthwhile to join.
If not, look around, there are clubs in OH, IL, FL, DC, WA, CA, MN, MA, TX etc.

We are likely going to host next years Aquatic Gardener's Association international meeting in SF Nov 2006.

So you can come see that, there will be at least 12 or so ADA style tanks for viewing by members.

Regards,
Tom Barr

Sure matty I would be up for it, maybe even just an area plant swap sometime.

The AGA meeting in SF sounds fantastic, Tom. I'll mark November '06 on my calendar. I saw the galleries and everything from the last one, I thought the Amano demonstration looked really cool. I'd better start saving pennies now for the trip.

We are likely going to have a couple of my tanks at the FINDIG in Sacramento this 28-30 of Oct.

One non CO2 1 gal nano tank and the other a CO2 enriched 5 gal.

By 12 or so Amano tanks, that's a min number of our own newer membership. That does not include the local ADA fish store, Aqua Forest which has all sorts of goodies and the well know Albany Aquarium and Ocean Aquarium.
That's not even folks like myself and a few other old timers.

Regards,
Tom Barr
