Hi,

I am setting up a new 90g planted tank. Light will be low at around 1 wpg, no co2, temp around 25, ph neutral.

I will be using plants I already have including anubias, java fern and moss, crypts, amazon swords, elodea and ambulia. I am looking for a foreground plant that will stay small and cover the front of the tank. Was hoping for something like hair grass or chain swords, but I understand that they like more light than I can offer.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Dave,

The best bet would be to place java moss on flat rocks and lay them out in the front, that for sure should work.

I grew Ech. Tenellus - Pygmy Chain Sword - rather successfully at 1.4 wpg in my 29G, so you could try it in your tank. Maybe buy only one pot (or plant - if sold lose) and see how it does.

Hope this helps a little,

Ingo

Hemianthus Callitrichoides "Cuba" is supossed to be pretty low light tolerant.

Easy enough to find these days.

Not a plant I've tried personally so can't confirm. But I am willing to take Tropicas word for it.

Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.
