Hi there,

If i ever was proud to grow a plant, valls where it! but today during water change i saw that most of my valls are melting!! i've never had a melt down not even with crypts! Nothing was changed or moved, no extra ferts or less.

Do someone has any idea why they are doing these?

Maybe you changed your routine a little bit? Do your light bulbs need to be changed?

Nope, they are brand new, less than a year, and usually valls are hardy to any change, that's the weird part of it.

Perhaps the answer is in your reply to the fertilising poll? You say that you don't use substrate fertilisers and it might be possible that they need it?h

Roberto,

What other plants are in the tank ?

Possible that you have other heavy root plants also doing well and are choking out the Vals roots ?

If the routine hasn't changed possibly it's competition from another plant which is now getting the upper hand.

The weird part of all this is that the tank has Valls planted in all the background and sides, and some even in the front right side, and there is melting everyhere.

Here is a detail of the tank it's so weird i can't figure it out, it can be lack of ferts, they get their weekley dose of master grow and have been healthy and lush for over a year now.

Yes, same ones and their kids, they do runners like crazy, that's why they are all around the tank
