Could i grow Micro Swords with an incandesant light? Also will they really take over the bottom of my tank? Thanks.

Probably not, unless it's a really bright light over a shallow tank.

They will need more light and fertilizer to do that, but in the right conditions, they tend to form a dense carpet over the substrate.

You won't be able to grow much in incandescent light. Certainly not micro sword.

The incandescent bulbs simply don't have enough intensity.

Swap it for a spiral compact flourescent and you'll see the difference.
