I'm just going through a hair algae take over at the moment. I'm growing more of that than plants. lol
I can't really think of any plants that I hate, just prefer the look of a few.

o you have to buy them! how long do they last?? and what the heck do they do?

I've heard they can live up to 100 years. I've also heard they'll move, (somehow ), if they're not getting enough light/nutrients where they are. Other than that they just sit there, looking out of place and somewhat unatural imo.

Yes, I think they are moss, yet people call them algae balls, moss balls, and marimo balls

I thought marimo balls were technically moss, not algae.

never heard of em mabe cuase i dont get much algea

As far as I know the only way to get marimo balls is to buy them. They don't just grow on their own, like say spot algae.

I like anachris. It's pretty, fast & easy to grow, and makes a good floater.

I also like hornwort because it looks a bit different from all the swords and similar plants.

I've had luck with moss balls and like them too.

IME hornwort is a mess. I have it in a few tanks and I'm about ready to get rid of it all.

I love and adore any Vallisneria, Cabomba, Crypts and hygrophilia

I loath java moss, it never grows in my tanks and it clogs any filter!!

I thought hornwort would be a lot of fun, but it turns out that if your tank isn't very tall, it will get caught in all your other non-floating plants, and catch all kinds of debris, giving it a dirty appearance.
