I was considering installing C02 system into my tank while looking at various opptions Icame across a system by nutrafin(I think)that supplys C02 via a fermintation process instead of via compressed botled gas it was markedly cheaper but being a beliver that you only get what you pay for I was wondering if this system would provide results if I did go ahead and install a C02 system.

For tanks under 30gallons yes it does work...For medium sized tanks it doesnt have as much of a result. For tanks over 75 gallons I dont think it'll work @all.

Yup you'll want compressed gas for that sized tank...the problem with a DIY is that it just doesnt have the force necessary to get the co2 into the water with that size....or so I understand it .

go pressurized. you're right, you do get what you pay for. a good pressurized system will last you until, well, you decide to leave the hobby. or until pressurized CO2 becomes illegal to buy. and hsould you decide to sell your set-up, you'll make a good portion of what you spent back. think of it as an investment

Back in the saddle!
