	Need plants to survive my cichlids...
fishiedude Fish Addict Posts: 503 Kudos: 195 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Aug-2002	The title basically says it all. The fish that mostly terrorizes plants is my green severum. He dispises plants more than anything else on earth. So I'm looking for a plant that will possibly give him a run for his money. Right now the tank looks a bit bland with just rocks. Help please. It's better to have a rocky tank, than having some half eaten plants. greenmonkey51 Fish Master Posts: 1571 Kudos: 1692 Votes: 5 Registered: 28-Jan-2004	Don't go with a lot of rocks with a severum. They like a habitat with a fair amount of driftwood and plants. But since they tear up almost all plants fake plants are the best way to go.

fishiedude Fish Addict Posts: 503 Kudos: 195 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Aug-2002	Well the reason that I started using real plants in my fish tanks in the first place is because fake ones would always accumulate a lot of algae and need to be taken out of the tank and scrubbed off, a pain. Would my plecos clean off plants if I got fake ones?

I might try some more of that, it grew like a weed in my 10. Anubias, I think there's some of that at the lfs too. I've seen how my sev likes to grab the plants by the leaf and just shove it into the corner (fake plants) so I don't know how they will do but I think I'll try. Thanks for the help!
